City of Berkeley
Office of the City Auditor
Making Berkeley Better!
As Berkeley's elected City Auditor I am looking for Berkeley resident volunteers who are
- Analytical thinkers
- Community minded
- Change agents
I'd like to tap into a diverse group of public minded residents with varying professional and personal backgrounds who would enjoy thinking critically about the City budget and City services and developing ideas about more effective use of our resources. The City Auditor's Office does this through our audits. I want to enrich our process by including interested residents' perspective.
The volunteers may meet in person or virtually, as a group, or separately, depending on schedules and interest. Potential projects could include:
- Critique the City's website for user-friendliness of financial and performance data
- Propose and develop potential research projects
- Advise on improvements to reports and outreach/media strategies
If you're interested in learning more about the City and sharing more of your own expertise, please send me an email with a little bit of information about yourself, and the best times and ways to contact you.
The City Auditor's Office mission is to be a catalyst for improving the efficiency, effectiveness, and equity of City service delivery. We do this by issuing performance audits and making recommendations for change based on independent, objective analysis. Community support helps us identify issues and also helps make sure that City leaders take action on our advice.
