The Heart 2 Heart Program and the City of Berkeley Young Adult Project will offer youth (as young as the age of 14 years with a work permit) and adults an opportunity to find jobs, internships, volunteer, and enrollment with more than 20 area employers, as well as academic and vocational programs on Thursday, August 21.
The “Job & Educational Fair” will be held from 10 am – 1 pm at the Young Adult Project – located at 1730 Oregon Street.
Attendees can network, obtain career information and gain experience talking to employers and academic institutions.
Employers such as City of Berkeley Human Resources, Fire and Police Departments, Berkeley Bowl, Berkeley Youth Alternatives, CalTrans and many others will offer both entry level and advanced positions. Academic institutions and vocational programs such as UC Berkeley, Peralta colleges, Samuel Merritt University, Fast Response and more will provide information and enrollment opportunities to the educational and training programs that they offer.
Additionally, social service and health related programs such as Alameda County Social Services, Every Woman Counts, the Center for Independent Living, and LifeLong Medical Care and will also be on site to provide services and resources from their respective programs.
This event will also provide FREE workshops on resume and interview skill development, as well as FREE blood pressure screenings for event participants.
