ANNUAL EVENT HONORS OUTSTANDING BERKELEY WOMEN
Call for Nominations
Berkeley, California (Friday, January 06, 2006) - Celebrating National Women’s History Month, the City of Berkeley’s Commission on the Status of Women (COSOW) will honor Outstanding Women of Berkeley at a reception, March 15, 7:30 p.m., at the North Berkeley Senior Center, 1901 Hearst Street.
COSOW is accepting nominations for Outstanding Berkeley Women awards, due January 30, at 5:00 p.m., for women who currently live in Berkeley and are 14 years of age and older. Nomination forms should be mailed to: Commission on the Status of Women, c/o Tasha Tervalon, Injury Prevention Program, 1947 Center Street, 2nd Floor, Berkeley, CA 94704, or E-mail the nomination form to: email@example.com. The Outstanding Berkeley Women Event is an opportunity to celebrate the accomplishments of women in our community. The COSOW encourages nominations for individuals who have inspired change and whom you feel should be recognized. In the past, the COSOW has recognized artists, teachers, mayors, and community activists to name a few.
We are confident this year we will see more outstanding women awarded for their achievements. All applications must be typed and include name, address and phone number of both the nominator and the nominee as well as a complete nominator's statement that addresses the nominee's contributions to the community and answers the questions on the nomination form. For a copy of the nomination form contact Tasha Tervalon at 981-5347 or firstname.lastname@example.org
