BERKELEY FIRE CHALLENGES BERKELEY POLICE IN BASKETBALL GAME FOR YOUTH CHARITY

Berkeley, California (Wednesday, January 25, 2006) - Don’t miss your chance to see the Berkeley Fire Department (BFD) take on Berkeley Police (BPD) in the Third Annual Charity Basketball Game. Billed as the Bravest (BFD) vs. the Finest (BPD), the game takes place on Thursday, February 16, 7:30 pm at Berkeley High School’s Donahue Gym (Milvia/Kittredge).Tickets are $5 for the general public and $2 for Berkeley High School students with student I.D. Tickets can be bought on the night of the game at the Berkeley High ticket window, or in advance at the Public Safety Building, 1st floor, from 8:00am-5:00pm.

Half of the proceeds for the game go to City Youth Programs. The other half goes to establish two scholarships to benefit Berkeley High students wishing to pursue careers in public safety. Call Dory Ehrlich, 981-5506, for more information.
