FREE NEIGHBORHOOD NETWORKING DISASTER PREPAREDNESS CLASS OFFERED IN WEST BERKELEY

Berkeley, California (Monday, February 06, 2006) - Berkeley’s Office of Emergency Services invites Berkeley residents to a free Neighborhood Organizing Class on Saturday, February 25, 10:00-12:00, at the West Berkeley Senior Center, 1900 Sixth Street.

Featuring several panelists, the class will go over principles of organizing, emergency preparedness binders, drills and exercises you can conduct, and how to enhance and revitalize already existing groups.  Participants will receive several hand-outs, including information on how to set up an emergency preparedness binder, web-links, scenarios for exercises you can try in your neighborhood, and supply lists. Light refreshments will be served.
