BERKELEY CELEBRATES 'SI SE PUEDE (IT CAN BE DONE!)'-HONORING THE CESAR CHAVEZ LEGACY THROUGH SERVICE TO THE COMMUNITY
Civic Center Poster Exhibit

Berkeley, California (Monday, April 03, 2006) - The 2006 Commemorative Period (March 20 - April 23, 2006), with the theme of Environmental Justice, honors Cesar Estrada Chavez.  A  poster exhibit, featuring the farm worker movement and its struggles, includes a print of the well-known poster "Portrait of La Causa," the surreal masterpiece honoring the late labor leader with a portrait comprised of a myriad of images from the farm worker struggle.  Viewing the poster at different times will yield new perspectives and images each time.  Whether you are attending a meeting in the Cypress Room or walking through the lobby of the Civic Center Building, at 2180 Milvia Street,  please visit the exhibit even if only for a few minutes, to be reminded of this amazing man, his amazing work and the legacy he left behind.
