PUBLIC TO ENVISION THE FUTURE OF DOWNTOWN BERKELEY
Workshop on Saturday, June 17, 2006
Berkeley, California (Monday, June 05, 2006) - The City of Berkeley invites members of the public to participate in a “Visioning Workshop” to consider the future of Downtown Berkeley. The Workshop will be held on Saturday, June 17, 2006 at the Berkeley High School Library (Allston at Milvia) from 1:00 pm to 4:00 pm.
At the Workshop, participants will work collaboratively to explore and communicate ideas on what can make Downtown a great place to shop, live, work, and learn. A brief presentation on existing conditions and issues will precede hands-on activities. Discussion will follow presentations of participant ideas.
The Downtown Area Plan Advisory Committee (DAPAC) will use ideas generated at this workshop to identify planning options for the Downtown that should be examined. These options will be shaped by DAPAC this summer and fall. DAPAC is expected to begin drafting policies for the Downtown next spring.
