Berkeley, California (Thursday, October 19, 2006) - The Downtown Berkeley Arts District is featured in the television program Bay Area Back Roads on KRON, Channel 4. The segment’s airdates are Saturday, October 28 and Sunday, October 29 at 6pm. The segment features three East Bay art/nature walks including a stroll down Addison Street to visit Berkeley’s burgeoning downtown arts district; a hike in the North Berkeley hills to explore its massive volcanic rock formations; and art nouveau architecture as well as a walk along the Albany Waterfront Trail to see its plethora of free-wheeling, nature centered, and found object art.
Berkeley residents are gathering on Saturday, October 28th at 5:30pm at Spenger’s Fresh Fish Grotto, Diamond Bar, 1919 4th Street to watch the program together. All are welcome. This gathering is being sponsored by the City of Berkeley’s Civic Arts Office, Susan Felix, the Mayor’s Ambassador of the Arts, and Elaine Lee, the co-producer of this Backroads segment and a resident of Berkeley.
