DON'T LET HIM PREY AGAIN
Detective's Need Help

Berkeley, California (Monday, November 20, 2006) - City of Berkeley Police Department (BPD) Robbery detectives believe that these 2 (two) photographs may be the best keys to nabbing a robber. They are asking the community’s help in solving the case before he preys again.

On November 5, 2006 at approximately 4:00 am, the suspect in the photographs approached a victim in the Downtown area of Berkeley. The suspect threatened to shoot the victim and demanded that the victim accompany him to a nearby ATM to withdraw cash.

Suspect is described as:   Black/Mixed Race or Bi-Racial Male

                                              18-20 years old

                                               6 feet tall

Riding a silver mountain bike “with seat raised high”

If you know the identity of this suspect or have any information that will assist in the investigation, please call the BPD Robbery Detail at (510) 981-5742. You may remain anonymous. If you spot the suspect, do not approach him or confront him. Dial 911 or 981-5911 from a cell phone and mention this case.

Historically, there is a rise in robbery cases in many Bay Area cities during the holiday season. BPD is reminding the community to employ some simple crime prevention measures to participate in reducing crime. Be aware of your surroundings. Do not talk on cell phones or use
I-Pods or other personal music devices during darkness. Call in suspicious persons or activity. More tips are available at www.ci.berkeley.ca.us/police
