Refuse Holiday Collection Schedule
Berkeley, California (Friday, December 15, 2006) - The City of Berkeley continues its policy on reduced services. Most City offices and services are either closed, or curtailed during the last Friday of each month. During the month of December, certain City services and programs will be closed from Monday, December 25, 2006 through January 1, 2007 (inclusive of holidays):
December 26 to December 29, 2006 (December 25 is an observed holiday)
January 26, 2007
(No reduced services day in February)
March 23, 2007
April 27, 2007
May 25, 2007
June 22, 2007
Reduced Services: On the last Friday of each month, services located at the Martin Luther King, Jr., Civic Center Building (2180 Milvia Street), the Finance Customer Service Center (1947 Center), and the Permit Service Center (2120 Milvia Street) will not be available. The following departments or services will be open and available: Police and Fire Departments; Senior Centers; Main and Branch Libraries; Animal Shelter; Public Works Transfer Station and Corporation Yard, and Health Clinic at 830 University Street (Partial Services).
Finance Customer Service: A "Drop Box" will be available between 8:00 a.m. and 5 p.m. in the lobby of 1947 Center Street to collect payments for citations, fees, and licenses, etc.
Refuse Collection: Refuse (garbage), recycling, and plant debris collection normally scheduled for Monday (Christmas Day), and Monday, (New Year's Day 2007), will be collected on Tuesdays for both weeks. All other refuse service collections during the year will take place as scheduled. Additional information is available on the City's Refuse Collection website.
