YOUTH SPRING BREAK PROGRAMS BEGIN!
Skateboarding, Science & Arts, & Fun Camps
Berkeley, California (Friday, March 16, 2007) - Are you looking for a structured recreational program for your child to enjoy during the spring break? Treat your kids to one of the City of Berkeley’s Spring Break Fun Camps! Your child can choose between a Science & Arts Camp, Skateboarding Camp and a Recreation Fun Camp Program. All programs will operate Monday-Friday, April 2-6.
The Spring Science and Arts Camp will include nature projects, tactile tunnels, and gooey, messy science concoctions for 5 to12 year-olds. Special events will include building “Radical Robots” and a trip to Lawrence Livermore Hall of Science. The program will be held at Willard Clubhouse, 2720 Hillegass St., 9:00 AM – 4:00 PM. Cost: $120. Optional Extended Care is available between 7:30-9:00 AM and 4:00 PM-6:00 PM for an additional fee. Call 981-5150 for additional information.
The Spring Skateboarding Camp is open to all levels from the beginning to advanced skater and includes five days of skating, learning and making friends. The program will be held at Berkeley Skate Park, 5th & Harrison St., between 9:00 AM - 4:00 PM. Cost: $125. Skaters will need a quality helmet, pads, and skateboarding shoes to participate. Supplies are typically found at a skateboarding store. Call Sean at 981-5148 for additional information.
The Spring Break Fun Camp will include activities such as cooking, arts & crafts, storytelling, sports and games, and mini-trips for 5 to 12 year-olds. A morning and afternoon snack is also included. The program will be held at James Kenney Recreation Center, 1720 8th St., between 9:00 AM –3:00 PM. Cost: $85. Optional Extended Care is available between 8:00-9:00 AM & 3:00-6:00 PM for an additional fee. Funships are also available (core program only). Contact 981-6650 for additional information.
