CITY OF BERKELEY ANNUAL REPORT RELEASED
Annual report includes news about Gilman Street Fields, crime prevention, Measure G, food recycling and more
Berkeley, California (Thursday, August 16, 2007) - More than 53,000 residents and businesses will receive the City of Berkeley’s Annual Report in their mailboxes next week.
“The last several years have been tough on the City’s budget and on our services,” said City Manager Phil Kamlarz. “But we kept focused on moving forward and we have a lot of great things to share with the community.”
The eight-page newsletter includes a letter from Kamlarz and news about the budget, the 2007 Health Status Report, the new Berkeley Housing Authority, and the City’s new food recycling program. There is also helpful information about crime and fire prevention, emergency preparedness, sustainable Berkeley businesses, and how residents can help meet the climate action challenge. A clip-and-save list of key Berkeley phone numbers and upcoming events is on the back.
The printed version of the annual report will be delivered to Berkeley residents and businesses next week. In the meantime, a first-ever interactive version of the annual report is already available online. In addition, a Spanish-language version of the report will also be available for the first time.
Visitors to the City Manager’s web site (http://www.CityofBerkeley.info/Manager/) can choose to either download the annual report in a printable, PDF version, or they can read an interactive version and link directly to other City web pages, forms, and community organizations.
The annual report is being translated into Spanish and will be posted online by mid-September. Public Health's Public Health Nurses and Community Health Workers, the Neighborhood Service Liaisons, and other community-based City workers will also distribute the reports directly to the Spanish-speaking community or residents can request it by email email@example.com or by calling (510) 981-7000.
Si gustaria leer la versión en español, envie correo electronico a firstname.lastname@example.org y le enviaremos una copia en cuanto esten disponibles (mediados de Septiembre).
