FREE EMERGENCY TRAINING
Anyone who lives or works in Berkeley is invited to learn first aid, search and rescue, fire suppression and about pandemic flu
Berkeley, California (Thursday, June 12, 2008) - Anyone who lives or works in Berkeley can get Community Emergency Response Training (CERT), provided free by the City of Berkeley.
CERT classes teach you how to apply basic first aid, how to put out a fire, and how to search for victims after an earthquake. Everyone is encouraged to take them all, but they can also be taken individually.
Here is the class schedule for June and July 2008. All classes are held at 997 Cedar Street, in the training area next to Fire Station 6.
Schedule of classes:
June 21- Disaster First Aid 9 a.m. - noon
June 28- Light Search and Rescue 9 a.m . - 1 p.m.
June 28- Fire Suppression 1:30 p.m. - 4:30 p.m.
July 12- Fire Suppression 9 a.m. - noon
July 19- Pandemic Flu 9 a.m. - noon
July 19- Disaster First Aid 1:30 p.m. - 4:30 p.m.
July 26- Light Search and Rescue 9 a.m. - 1 p.m.
