SECOND ARREST MADE IN SILVER CAR ROBBERY SERIES
Berkeley, California (Thursday, October 23, 2008) - At approximately 7:00 am members of the Berkeley Police Department (BPD) Detective Division served a search warrant on the 5700 block of Genoa St. in Oakland. Acting on information gained following the arrest of co-conspirator Davon Vigay 18 (of Pinole), Detectives learned the identity of a second involved party and a search warrant and arrest warrant were obtained.
Detectives this morning arrested Lorenzo Jackson 18, of Oakland, for his alleged participation in a series of Berkeley robberies, which have occurred since early September. During the course of this morning’s search of Jackson’s residence, Detectives seized a 9mm handgun.
Since his arrest last week, Vigay has been charged by the Alameda County District Attorney’s Office with 8 counts of Robbery.
These arrests are the direct result of the BPD’s collaborative efforts with the community, as the original tip that led to Vigay’s arrest came from a well-informed member of a Neighborhood Watch group.
