BERKELEY POLICE INVESTIGATE 10TH ST. SHOOTING
Berkeley, California (Monday, January 12, 2009) - At 8:15 PM on January 11, 2009, Berkeley Police responded to a report of a verbal argument on the 1100 block of Parker St. While looking for the people involved in the argument Officers heard a series of gunshots that they believed were fired somewhere on the 2500 block of 10th St.
Responding officers found an adult, African-American male victim with apparent gunshot wounds lying on the sidewalk on the west side of the Bank of America Parking lot (2546 San Pablo Ave). The Berkeley Fire Department responded and transported the unidentified victim to the Alameda County Hospital (Highland) for treatment.
A search of the surrounding area was conducted with assistance from a Richmond Police Department K-9 unit and a California Highway Patrol air unit. No one was arrested, as a result of the search and the investigation is still ongoing.
