PARTIAL CLOSURE OF UNIVERSITY AVENUE
Saturday and Sunday, December 5 - 6 from 4 am to Noon

Berkeley, California (Friday, December 04, 2009) - This weekend, Verde Pacific Builders will be moving a large tower crane out of West Berkeley as a result of the construction project at 1122 University Avenue. Due to this project, eastbound traffic on University Avenue will be diverted into a single lane of University Avenue ( in a westbound lane) from San Pablo to Curtis Street. Westbound University traffic will be condensed into a single lane of traffic from Curtis to San Pablo Avenue. This will occur from 4:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. on both Saturday and Sunday, December 5-6, 2009. Verde Pacific will have traffic flagmen to assist with traffic control however due to the complexity and impact on a major city intersection, the construction company will fund two police officers to assist with traffic control from 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. on both days.
