CITY OF BERKELEY SPRING EGG HUNT EXTRAVAGANZAS

Berkeley, California (Tuesday, March 30, 2010) - The City of Berkeley is hosting two fun filled events for the avid egg hunter:
Spring Egg Hunt Extravaganza, at Willard Park, 2726 Hillegass Avenue, from 10am-1pm, $5 fee. This is a family event featuring egg hunts for 1-7 year olds and a treasure hunt for 8-10 year olds. There will also be a petting zoo, a visit with the Spring Bunny, arts & crafts, and a kid's carnival with fun prizes. Participants will receive a basket to collect all their spring goodies in.
Underwater Egg Hunt, at King Pool, 1700 Hopkins Street, from 12 noon-1:30 pm, $3 fee. Kids, between 3-12 years old are all encouraged to join in this exciting spring event. Little ones will have both floating eggs to retrieve and an egg hunt on land. Activities include an egg walk, egg dyeing and a visit from the spring bunny! New this year is a demonstration of Pysanky, traditional Ukrainian egg decoration, using wax and many bright colors. Egg hunts are scheduled for 12:15, 12:45 and 1:15pm. Kids will be organized into four groups: 3 years and under, 4-6 years,7-10 years, and 11 years and over.
