Berkeley, California (Friday, June 18, 2010) - Collaboration between the City of Berkeley Police Department (BPD) and the City of Oakland Police Department (OPD) led to the arrest of the suspect in the May 20th shooting of a man and woman in the 1700 block of 63rd Street. BPD and OPD had been exchanging information and following leads to the whereabouts of Doran Williams., Jr., 10/17/82, who was wanted for the crimes.
Last night, June 16, 2010, OPD officers followed Williams from a motel in the City of Richmond to the City of Oakland. Williams fled from the car he was driving and after a brief foot chase, he was taken into custody without further incident. Doran Williams, Jr. is a member of the North Oakland Bushrod gang who call themselves the “Cold Gunnaz”.
