GRAND OPENING OF INNOVATIVE NEW BIKE STATION IN DOWNTOWN BERKELEY
Berkeley, California (Monday, July 12, 2010) - The City of Berkeley, BART and its project partners will officially open an innovative new Bike Station on Tuesday, July 13, serving the Downtown Berkeley BART Station. The new bike station at 2208 Shattuck Avenue will nearly quadruple bike storage capacity at the station, making it easier than ever to bike it, park it and BART it for free.
The public is invited to a preview of the bike station’s many features, including specially-equipped “rent-to-own” commuter bikes, bicycle repair facilities and the self-service BikeLink electronic storage area. The
celebration will include prize drawings and light refreshments.
