THE CITY OF BERKELEY IS HIRING SUMMER STAFF FOR ECHO LAKE CAMP

Berkeley, California (Monday, February 07, 2011) - The City of Berkeley is now hiring summer staff for Echo Lake Camp!

The City of Berkeley's Echo Lake Camp, a summer youth and family camp located in South Lake Tahoe, is looking for energetic, motivated, and responsible individuals who would like to spend their summer working as camp staff.

Echo Lake Camp sits atop a 7400 foot ridge overlooking Lake Tahoe, and is just minutes away from Echo Lake and the Desolation Wilderness. We are a 3½ hour drive from Berkeley and only 20 minutes from South Lake Tahoe. Camp recreational activities include swimming, hiking, canoeing, sports, arts and crafts, games, campfires, night hikes and other supervised activities. Echo Lake Youth Camp runs Monday-Friday, and Family Camp and rental groups use camp on the weekends.

The City of Berkeley is currently accepting applications for camp counselors, recreation leaders, kitchen staff, maintenance staff, lifeguards, and Registered Nurses (see more information below).

Free room and board is included with all Echo Lake Camp staff positions!

Camp Staff Supervisors ($90-$130/day)
Kitchen Manager
Program Supervisor

Camp Staff Leaders ($60-90/day)
Maintenance Crew Leader
First Cook
Second Cook
Boys Camp Leader
Girls Camp Leader

Camp Staff Members ($40-60/day)
Maintenance Crew
Kitchen Staff
Counselors

Dates of Employment:

Staff Training runs June 27th-June 30th  
Kitchen and Maintenance staff: June 22nd - August 29th
Counselors: July 11 -15, 18-22, August 1-5, 8-12, 15-19 and 22-26, with the possibility of some weekend work as needed.

We are also looking for camp nurses (must be a licensed RN or MD with valid credentials) to spend one or more weeks with us this summer. Nurses are paid $70-$90/day based on experience. Room and board is included. In addition, nurses may have up to two guests stay for free. There are no set hours; this job by nature requires you to be on-call at all times.
