SUMMER RECREATION KICKOFF AND SCIENCE FAIR
Families are invited to have fun, play games and learn about broad variety of summer camps
Berkeley, California (Wednesday, May 02, 2012) - All Berkeley residents, family, and friends are invited to the Summer Recreation Kickoff and first-ever Science Fair at San Pablo Park on Saturday, May 5. Everyone is welcome to try out exciting summer camp games and activities run by enthusiastic camp staff, and learn more about the camps directly from the people who work at them.
Kids can experience the camp games and activities run by James Kenney’s Explorers Camp, Live Oak’s Sports and Games Camp, Frances Albrier’s Arts Discovery Camp, and Young Adult Project’s Summer Achievers Program. Berkeley Day Camp, Tots, and Teen staff will also be available throughout the day.

Parents can learn about the many summer camp options available to them, while kids can meet the staff, try out camp games and activities, and do other activities.

In addition to those camps, specialty camps such as Challenger British Soccer camp, Rebound Basketball Academy, and Techsplosion’s Robotic Adventures with LEGO® Mindstorms® will offer demonstrations, and Head Over Heels Athletic Arts will offer some amazing performances throughout the day.
To make sure everyone has a good time, there will also be an inflatable obstacle course, a dunk tank, Science Fair judging and awards (grades 1-8), Ranger Baron’s Farm Animal Friends (petting zoo and animal exhibits), Tots Play time, Water Bottle Rocket Launch, and an Egg-Drop station. Free hot dogs will also be served (while supplies last). Join in on the fun!
BONUS: Online summer program registration is now available! Register for many summer classes and camps in the Computer Room using our online system. Staff will be available for assistance.
