“IT’S TIME FOR RECESS!!!” FREE COMMUNITY AND HEALTH FAIR
The whole family is welcome to attend this free event to promote healthy eating and physical activity
Berkeley, California (Monday, October 01, 2012) - All Berkeley residents are welcome to come and learn about how to make every day more active and healthy. Come down to the Young Adult Project for a little hopscotch, soccer, or face painting, and leave a little healthier and a little more informed.

This is going to be a fun-filled event focused on increasing community awareness on nutrition, physical activity, and healthy lifestyles. The fair offers an exciting list of activities - including an obstacle course, double-dutch, hula hooping, hopscotch, as well as opportunities for people to learn basketball and soccer skills. There will also be fun activities for youth to learn about healthy eating, as well as face painting, raffle prizes, and much more!
The 2012 "It's Time for Recess" Community and Health Fair is an event that also supports "Food Day" (www.foodday.org) - a nationwide celebration and movement toward more healthy, affordable, and sustainable food.

The City's Public Health Division, in collaboration with the City of Berkeley Young Adult Project and Champions for Change - Network for a Healthy California, is hosting this event as part of its work to improve nutrition, enhance physical activity, and prevent obesity in Berkeley.
