GOBERKELEY PILOT PROGRAM: OPTIONS FOR PARKING CHANGES PRESENTED AT OPEN HOUSES
in the Elmwood, Telegraph/Southside, and Downtown Berkeley

Berkeley, California (Wednesday, May 22, 2013) - The community is invited to attend an Open House to discuss the goBerkeley Pilot Program, which aims to reduce congestion, improve parking options, and promote alternatives to driving in the Downtown Berkeley, Southside, and Elmwood neighborhoods options for parking changes. Below is the  schedule for the Open Houses: 

  •  Elmwood Open House: Wednesday, May 22nd, 6 p.m to 8 p.m., Claremont Library, 2940 Benvenue Avenue
  • Telegraph / Southside Open House: Wednesday, May 29th, 4 p.m. to 6 p.m., Trinity United Methodist Church – Fireside Room, 2362 Bancroft Way
  • Downtown Berkeley Open House: Monday, June 3rd, 5 p.m. to 7 p.m, Central Library – Community Room, 2090 Kittredge Street

At each Open House, staff will present goals and timeline for the goBerkeley Pilot Program; parking issues identified  through data collection and surveys of businesses, employees and visitors; and options for changes to parking rates and time limits to address those issues.

Staff will also be available to continue enrollment of  eligible businesses and employees in the goBerkeley Employee Benefits program, which includes distribution of up to 1,000 free one-year AC Transit passes and discounted one-year City Carshare memberships.

The goBerkeley Pilot Program, a partnership between the City of Berkeley, AC Transit, City CarShare, UC Berkeley and TransForm, is funded by grants from the Federal Highway Administration, the Metropolitan Transportation Commission, and the Bay Area Air Quality Management District.  Additional project information is available at www.goberkeley.info
