TAKING THE MYSTERY OUT OF THE PERMIT PROCESS
Presentation and Pointers about City Regulations for Businesses in Berkeley

Berkeley, California (Wednesday, June 05, 2013) - Confused about what you need to know to open a business in Berkeley?  The City wants to help!

At the request of the Chamber of Commerce and Downtown Berkeley Association, Wendy Cosin and Terry Blount from the City Planning Department recently provided an overview of regulations and processes that apply to new businesses. The focus of the presentation was on the business license and zoning regulations.  Chamber CEO Polly Armstrong said, "This was a good example of the Chamber and the City working together to get out the message that Berkeley is 'open for business' and eager to add transparency to the process."

The presentation was filmed by Berkeley Community Media and will be posted on the Planning Department’s website when it is available. The power point presentation and handouts are available under the “What’s New” sidebar from the following link:  http://www.ci.berkeley.ca.us/landuse/

Staff are available for future presentations – feel free to contact Wendy Cosin at wcosin@cityofberkeley.info if you would like a presentation oriented to a specific group or topic.
