RE-IMAGINE ADELINE: EXHIBIT ON POSSIBILITIES FOR CORRIDOR STARTS MARCH 25
Public exhibit open March 25 through 31

Berkeley, California (Wednesday, March 01, 2017) - Come see a new exhibit developed as part of the Adeline Corridor planning process gives the community a hands-on view of different visions for the future of Adeline Street.

The Re-imagine Adeline exhibit uses graphic displays and three-dimensional models to help interested residents visualize the possibilities in the Adeline Corridor and further inform public participation in this critical effort.

Re-imagine Adeline integrates community feedback collected over the past two years with technical studies conducted by staff and consultants and presents potential visions for redesigning the roadway to make it safer and provide opportunities for open space and other uses within the Adeline Corridor that support community goals.  The exhibit consists of display boards and 3-dimensional models that visualize potential changes to the Adeline Corridor.

Over the next several weeks, the community is asked provide feedback on potential visions as part of the process to shape a plan for the Adeline Corridor.  The exhibit will be on display at the Ed Roberts Campus starting on Saturday, March 25th from 10am to 2pm through Friday, March 31st (see detailed schedule below).  In addition to visiting the exhibit in-person, much of the exhibit is currently available online, including an informative video which walks through the exhibit displays and models, exhibit posters presented as PDF documents, and an online questionnaire that will be open through Friday, March 31st for interested parties to provide valuable feedback.

Anyone interested is invited to view the exhibit, in-person and/or online, which summarizes Berkeley's progress to date in developing the Adeline Corridor Plan, and to provide input on past work and future direction of the Planning process.

The Adeline Corridor Plan process is a comprehensive effort to identify the goals of the community and ensure they are incorporated into a Plan that outlines community priorities and includes goals, policies and implementation actions for recommended improvements. The current phase of the project, focused on reshaping the Adeline right-of-way, will influence parts of the plan, still-to-be developed, that will address land use, transportation safety and mobility opportunities for affordable housing, businesses and jobs, arts and culture, open space and preserving the area's rich history. Adoption of the final plan will better position the City to receive public funding for proposed improvements. For questions about the project, visit the City's Adeline Corridor website or contact Alisa Shen, Principal Planner at ashen@cityofberkeley.info or 510.981.7409.

Come see the exhibit. Try to imagine how you would like to have the corridor better serve the community.
