People’s Park is owned, managed, and maintained by the University of California: http://communityrelations.berkeley.edu. Deeply rooted in Berkeley’s history, People’s Park was created by community members in the 1960s and includes a large lawn, community gardens, a basketball court, performance stage, play features for children, and places for sitting.
