Sex Crimes Detail and Domestic Violence Prevention Unit 

folder file510-981-5735 / 510-981-5736 - The Sex Crimes and the Domestic Violence Prevention Unit Detail, a component of the Detective Division is responsible for the investigation and follow-up of reports concerning: forcible or unlawful sexual intercourse, sexual battery, stalking, indecent exposure, harassing phone calls, peeping /prowling incidents, and the tracking and the compliance of sex registrants.

The detail is comprised of one Detective Sergeant, two Detectives, one part-time police Reserve Officer and one Victim Advocate who is an employee of the 
Family Violence Law Center. Sex Crimes investigates an average of 40 sexual assault cases and 80 "other" sex related cases per year.

The Domestic Violence Prevention Unit  investigates cases involving abuse between intimate partners, restraining order violations and providing victims of domestic violence with assistance. This unit investigates over 450 cases per year.
