Item 2. Closed Session - In closed session, pursuant to Section 54956.9 of the Government Code, the Board voted to give its approval to defend the litigation captioned Dezerega v. City of Berkeley Rent Stabilization Board, Superior Court Case No. 2001-032280, a petition for writ of administrative mandate brought by David and Sara Dezerega, seeking to overturn the Rent Board's decision in petition T-3828, concerning the rental unit at 2522 Piedmont Avenue, Apartment Number 7. M/S/C (Janowitz/Hogarth) Roll call vote. Yes: Maldonado, Janowitz, Anderson, Bernay, Spector, Harris, Hogarth, Alberti; No: None; Abstain: None; Absent: Siegel. Passed: 8-0-0-1.

       Adoption of Resolution Setting Fiscal Year 2002/2003 Budget Amount at $2,769,176 and establishing the Annual Registration Fee at $124.
