Bicycle Registration Information

The City of Berkeley Police Department does not currently offer any means to register your bicycle. However, our partners at the University of California Police Department (UCPD) offer FREE bicycle licensing services. Check their current schedule by following this link - University of California Police Department (UCPD) 510-642-6760

Licensing your bicycle increases the likelihood of recovery in case of theft. A new license is valid for three years. Renewals, which are also available, are valid for up to three years as well. There are a number of organizations that have started bike registries that you may want to consider that can be easily found with an Internet search.  Here is one that you may want to consider. The National Bike Registry
