Life Guard Training Information 2010
Saturday, February 13, 2010 from 10:00am-3:00pm is the last dates for ARC challenge courses that will be offered through City of Berkeley Aquatics for the summer 2010 hiring season. Cost $69.00
Each challenge course is scheduled for a full five hours it may take less time if participants are fully prepared. If you are interested in enrolling for one of our ARC recertification courses please contact Rosemary Fonseca at rfonseca@ci.berkeley.ca.us. Enrollment will be on a first come first served basis and Mark will contact you with further information accordingly. Don’t wait to sign up before it’s too late!
The City of Berkeley Aquatics / Swim Program offers three swim centers in different areas of the city. The City of Berkeley Aquatics program includes a youth swim team, adult masters team, diving lessons, adult swim lessons, aquatic leisure classes (spirit walking), arthritis exercise lifeguard training, junior lifeguard program, parent and tot classes, family swimming, Tiny Tot Time, year round public swim and water safety instruction. We host specialized programs including: "Conquer your Fear," and other swim programs for the special needs populations. Much of the foregoing information is included for your convenience in the information noted below. Call specific Swim Centers for availability before filling out Facility Use Permit.
Refund Policy
All requests for refunds must be directed to the Recreation and Youth Services Manager, 1947 Center Street, Berkeley, CA. 94704. The original receipt must be submitted with a written request for a refund. The request must state the reason for the refund, and the date, time and location of the program. The Recreation and Youth Services Manager will render a decision to either: 1) refund the fee; 2) pro rate the fee; or 3) deny the request.
No refunds or credit will be granted without 7 days notice prior to start of class. The City will deduct 25% of the amount paid from the Refund to cover administrative expenses, or a minimum $10.00 service charge. A refund will be granted for an individual or family if a doctor’s certificate is provided along with the written request for the refund.

Applications will be incomplete if copies of current certifications, and availability form are not attached. Certifications must be current thru September 4th, 2010. Incomplete applications will not be processed and applicant will not be considered for position applied for.
