Parking Enforcement Officers
Parking Enforcement Officers (PEO's) are an integral part of the Berkeley Police Department Traffic Bureau. These men and women serve a variety of functions within the division, most notably, the enforcement of parking violations throughout the City of Berkeley. Many of the parking issues and concerns raised come from neighborhoods, merchant associations, visitors and students.
These violations range from Berkeley Municipal Codes along with the California Vehicle Codes. Parking Enforcement Officers often assist in reducing blight in the City of Berkeley by towing abandoned vehicles that community members have reported, and directing traffic at a variety of incidents, from fires, to crime scenes to traffic accidents. The Parking Enforcement Division can be reached at (510) 981-5890.
