Regular meetings of the City of Berkeley Rent Stabilization Board are held on the third Monday of the month, except holidays, at 7:00 pm in the City Council Chambers, Maudelle Shirek Building, 2134 Martin Luther King Jr. Way.  Commissioners will reserve the first Monday of each month for potential Special Meetings.   When a Board meeting falls on a holiday, it is traditionally rescheduled to the following Thursday.  (Resolution Number 05-27  [PDF file requires Adobe Acrobat Reader], adopted on December 5, 2005, revising Resolution Number 96-13 [PDF file requires Adobe Acrobat Reader ].) 

Meetings are open to the public and are televised live on Berkeley's Cable Channel 33 and broadcast live by KPFB radio station (89.3 FM).  Rebroadcasts are televised on Cable Channel 33 the day following the meeting and on Sundays, according to Channel 33's schedule.  Starting in January 2006, Rent Stabilization Board meetings have been available by live webcast (an active "live webcast" link appears on the City of Berkeley webcast page during a live broadcast), with video archiving of meeting broadcasts available at your convenience.  See the links in the meeting schedule below to access the live webcast or view the video archive of a meeting.  To view video of earlier meetings (video archives are available starting January 2006), please see the meeting schedule for that year.

Agendas and minutes of the meetings are published on the internet and full agenda packages are available for review at the Rent Stabilization Program office and the main branch of the Berkeley Public Library.  Rent Board agenda packages may also be obtained by subscription for an annual fee.

Citizen participation in the development of Rent Board policies and regulations is encouraged.  Agendas of committee meetings and public hearings are posted.  Any Berkeley resident may address the Board in person by completing a speaker's request card either during the public comment period at the beginning of each meeting or by making an advance request in writing to:  Berkeley Rent Stabilization Board, 2125 Milvia Street, Berkeley, CA, 94704.
