New Sculpture and Photography Exhibit at Addison Street Windows Gallery

Berkeley, California (Wednesday, August 29, 2007) - Beginning Sunday, September 2 and running through Saturday, October 13, the public is invited to view the exhibition of  "graham + erikson," a sculpture and photography exhibit. A sidewalk reception will be held for the public on September 9th from 3:00 to 5:00 PM.  The exhibition can be viewed 24 hours a day from the sidewalk on Addison Street, and it is free and wheelchair accessible.

Nancy Graham's sculpture showcases figurative sculpture in plaster and concrete. Many of the most recent pieces are yoga poses. Other figures depict common gestures and activities. The sculptures are made of concrete that has a wire and welded steel armature. Graham earned a degree in textile design from UC Davis and some of her weavings are shown in the exhibition.
Melissa Erikson's photographs look at the graphic abstraction of plants and landscape forms. Erikson is a landscape architect by trade. She earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in art (studio) and in psychology from St. Olaf College and a Master of Landscape Architecture degree from UC Berkeley.

The Addison Street Windows Gallery, located at 2018 Addison Street in Berkeley, is a project of the Civic Arts Program of the City of Berkeley in cooperation with the Civic Arts Commission.
