The Berkeley Police Department (BPD) is dedicated to promoting and ensuring the safety, education and welfare of all young people throughout our City. BPD is committed to programs that encourage youth to avoid drugs, gangs, maintain safety on the Internet, to stay in school and to contribute positively to the community.

The Youth Services Detail  is dedicated to helping parents, teachers, and the community to stop youth violence. YSD is constantly seeking new and innovative programs that will help parents and foster safety for our youth. The Berkeley Police Department Youth Services Detail works collaboratively with the Berkeley Unified School District (BUSD) and the various programs sponsored by the schools in Berkeley.
