SKATE PARK REOPENS
After two months of repairs, the Skate Park is open
Berkeley, California (Friday, June 20, 2008) - Skaters of all ages are being welcomed back to the Berkeley Skate Park with a celebration on Saturday, June 21. The party will feature live music, contests, refreshments and of course, lots of skating.
The public is invited to help celebrate the reopening of the park after two months of repairs and improvements. The park was closed on April 28 of this year so the City could spend about $40,000 to fix cracks and broken cement.
WHEN: Saturday, June 21, 2008, Noon- 6 p.m.
WHERE: Berkeley Skate Park, at Harrison Park (5th and Harrison)
WHAT: Welcome Back to the Skate Park party
The park is free and open 7 days a week, from 8:00 a.m. - 9:00 p.m. Helmets, elbow pads and knee-pads are required. No bikes allowed.
The Skate Park is an 18,000 square foot park that contains a large oval bowl, fun box and areas for beginners. About 20,000 skaters use the park each year.
