WARRANT ISSUED FOR RUSSELL ST. SHOOTER DETECTIVES SEEK PUBLIC’S ASSISTANCE
Berkeley, California (Monday, July 21, 2008) - UPDATE - Gabriel Alejo, 18 of Berkeley, wanted in connection with the above shooting turned himself in this morning at 04:30 am to the Alameda County Sheriff's Deputies (Santa Rita County Jail). He was booked for 4 counts of PC 245(a)(2)-Assault with a Deadly Weapon. He is being held on $100,000 bail and will be arraigned Friday afternoon at 2:00 pm at the Wiley Manual Courthouse Rm 112.
City of Berkeley Police Department (BPD) Homicide Detectives are requesting the community’s help in locating Gabriel Alejo 18, of Berkeley, Ca. Witness cooperation led to Alejo’s identification as the person responsible for shooting four people standing in front of a residence on the 1500 block of Russell St. just after 1:30 am on Sunday, 7-20-08.
Later that morning, members of the BPD executed a search warrant at Alejo’s residence on the 1900 block of 6th St., but Alejo was not at home.
Gabriel Alejo is described as:
Hispanic Male, 18 years old
5-09, 155 lbs and should be
considered armed and dangerous
