A PLAN FOR ENGAGING COMMUNITY IN CLIMATE PROTECTION EFFORT RELEASED
Climate Action in the City of Berkeley: A Framework Report for Community Review and Engagement

Berkeley, California (Wednesday, June 06, 2007) - A new report released today by the City's Climate Action Team proposes a set of potential strategies that will help Berkeley achieve its greenhouse gas emissions reduction target and invites the community to play a role in developing Berkeley’s Climate Action Plan.

"The purpose of this document is to engage our entire community in thinking about how we can work together to identify and implement actions that will effectively reduce greenhouse gas emissions," said Timothy Burroughs. "This report is a first step toward developing the City’s Climate Action Plan and we encourage folks to review it and share their ideas and comments.”

The report, Climate Action in the City of Berkeley: A Framework Report for Community Review and Engagement, is available online at: http://www.cityofberkeley.info/sustainable/ under the news and events section. Community members can also get a copy by attending upcoming climate action workshops or contacting Burroughs directly at (510) 981-5437.
