COMMUNITY CRIME ALERT - PREDATOR WANTED ON 10 COUNTS OF SEXUAL BATTERY
Berkeley, California (Wednesday, February 18, 2009) - City of Berkeley Police Department (BPD) Sex Crimes Detectives are still seeking the community’s help in catching a prolific sexual deviant.
On January 28, 2009 BPD issued a crime alert warning of 6 assaults where college aged women who are wearing skirts have been targeted. That number has now climbed to a total of 10 cases. In all 10 cases, the suspect has approached the victim(s) from behind, lifted their skirts and attempted to penetrate the victim’s vagina with his finger.
Due to the fact that the suspect approaches the victims from behind to commit the crime, the victims were unable to get a detailed description of the suspect.
The four new cases have occurred within 2 blocks of each other along the 2300 and 2400 blocks of Piedmont Avenue between the hours of 10PM and 3AM.
The victims have generally described the suspect as:
White male, early 20s
Short dark wavy hair
