BERKELEY PROJECT MONTH BEGINS
Cal students take to the streets... and the pools and the parks and the schools

Berkeley, California (Thursday, February 26, 2009) - Over the next several Saturdays, February 28, March 7 and March 14, students from the University of California Berkeley will be working at pools, parks and schools all over Berkeley for Berkeley Project Month.

Berkeley Project is organized by Cal students who want to increase the opportunities for students to volunteer. BP Day is a one-day event in fall, and Berkeley Project Month takes place over several spring weekends to give volunteers some time flexibility and the chance to volunteer on several different projects.  Each day has a different theme, and staff and students are prepared to work through the weather.

Saturday, February 28, 9 a.m. – 2 p.m.: Construction and Clean-Up

Most of the projects at these sites are related to landscaping and facility improvement.

Saturday, March 7, 9:30 a.m.- 2 p.m.: Greening Berkeley

Saturday, March 14, 9:30 a.m.- 2 p.m.: Community Enrichment
