After a 22-month closure for construction, the City of Berkeley Oxford Garage is open

Berkeley, California (Wednesday, March 18, 2009) - After being closed for 22 months for construction, the 99-space Oxford Garage at the corner of Oxford and Kittredge in downtown Berkeley is open to the public.

Location:  Corner of Oxford and Kittredge, with the entrance on Kittredge
Hours:  Monday-Saturday  8:00 a.m. to 12:00 a.m. (midnight)
             Sunday 8:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m.
Cost:  One Hour -  $1.00
             Two Hours -  $3.00    
             Three Hours -  $6.00 
             Four Hours -  $10.00   
             Five Hours  - $15.00
Special Events: Evening Parking After 5:00PM - $4.00
             Football, Basketball & Graduation - Up to $25.00

The parking lot has been closed since April 2007 for construction of the David Brower Center and Oxford Plaza. The City owns, operates and receives all revenues from the underground public parking garage.

The David Brower Center will include over 24,200 square feet of new, Class A office space and 3,200 square feet of restaurant space. There will be a 180-seat theater, and second floor meeting rooms. The Oxford Plaza includes approximately 8,500 square feet of retail space.
