BODY LANGUAGE

Berkeley, California (Wednesday, September 27, 2006) - The City of Berkeley is pleased to announce the art exhibition, "Body Language" at the Addison Street Windows Gallery from October 22 through November 29, 2006. This art exhibition of paintings and sculpture showcases three artists whose work explores one of the strongest communications between humans - body language.  There will be an opening sidewalk reception, Friday, October 27, 2006 from 6 - 8 p.m.  This event is wheelchair accessible and open to the public.

The pit fired clay sculptures of Michele Collier, the clay sculptures of Vic Coffield, and the watercolor paintings of Mary Robinson capture the energy, feeling, and movement of body language. While each artist is well established in his or her medium and conveys an individual selection of interactions and social contexts, the strength of this show is the juxtaposition of their art and a compelling snapshot of the human experience.

The Addison Street Windows Gallery is a project of the Civic Arts Program of the City of Berkeley in cooperation with the Civic Arts Commission. The Windows Gallery is wheelchair accessible and on view 24 hours a day.
