CITY OF BERKELEY 3RD ANNUAL GREEN HOME EXPO AND ENERGY SYMPOSIUM

Berkeley, California (Tuesday, April 25, 2006) - The City of Berkeley is hosting its 3rd Annual Green Home EXPO on Saturday, April 29th, noon to 5:00 p.m. in the Berkeley Civic Center Park (located at Martin Luther King Jr. Way and Center Street). Admission is FREE and the event features exhibits, a host of free services, and a special panel discussion on Energy Independence, moderated by Mayor Tom Bates, at 1:00 p.m.
Exhibits include solar energy systems, biodiesel vehicles, a solar energy workshop for kids, and a wide variety of green building materials and furnishings. Energy conservation, Zero Waste, climate change, environmental protection and conservation are the focus of many of the exhibits. Free services include mercury thermometer and lighting swap, lead-safe painting kits, safe medicine disposal, battery drop-off, and drop off of old computers, monitors, cell phones, and other electronic equipment.
