PARADE IN DOWNTOWN BERKELEY MAY CAUSE TRAFFIC DISRUPTION
World Peace Spiritual March will result in some temporary street closures and re-routing of AC Transit buses

Berkeley, California (Friday, June 05, 2009) - On Sunday, June 7, the World Peace Spiritual March will travel in and around Downtown Berkeley, causing some traffic and AC Transit buses to be re-routed. The detours will be in effect between 6 a.m. and 3 p.m.

The parade starts at Civic Center Park and travels as follows:

· exits at Milvia and Center Street
· Milvia northbound to Addison Street
· Addison eastbound to Shattuck
· West side of Shattuck to University Avenue (Sharing the street with separate southbound traffic lanes)
· West on University Avenue on the south side of the median (there will be two-way traffic on the north side of the street, north of the median)
· South on California Street to north of Allston Way intersection

The parade will follow the same route back.

If you are traveling downtown on Sunday, you should also know that

· The Center Street Garage will have access from Center Street only, and
· AC-Transit buses 15 and 79 will be detoured to Oxford and Addison Street.
