- Records Retention Schedule
The City of Berkeley’s Records Retention Schedule identifies records maintained by each department of the city. Each schedule was prepared in consultation with individual departments. We inventory city records and update the schedule with new information periodically. The schedule identifies retention periods for each type of record and whether the record, based on retention criteria, is likely to be located in off-site storage. Berkeley Records Online is a Web-based resource that allows users to access City documents 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

Another way to locate information and records you are seeking is to review the city services directory to identify department functions and programs and contact that department with your request.
