Berkeley, California (Friday, May 07, 2010) - Are you looking for a fun, supervised environment to support your child's activities this summer? How about just a fun, family- style vacation? The City of Berkeley's Camp Programs offer programs to meet your needs! All the camps are specifically designed to offer well-planned and supervised activities with an emphasis on learning new skills in a safe place.  Scholarships are available at a 50 percent discount for qualifying families.

Berkeley Day Camp (ages 5-12)
This popular Day Camp Program operates Monday thru Friday, 9 a.m.- 3:30 p.m., for nine consecutive sessions, between June 21and August 20. Day Camp provides children a choice of activities including arts and crafts, games, swimming, canoeing, exploring, and more. Each session includes round-trip transportation and afternoon snack. 
Cost: $135/resident; $149/non-resident. Extended morning and afternoon sessions are also available for an additional fee.

About Echo Lake Camp
Echo Lake Camp is located in the El Dorado National Forest, within a 10-minute walk to Desolation Wilderness. Wooden tent cabins offer stunning ridge views of Lake Tahoe in this recreational paradise. Food, hot-tubbing and activities such as hiking, swimming, canoeing, horseshoes, basketball, volleyball, and badminton are all included.

Echo Lake Youth Camp (Ages 8-13)
At Echo Lake Youth Camp, our goal is to create an exciting environment where kids can develop self-confidence and teamwork skills, as well as challenge themselves with new activities and action-packed adventures. Youth Camp is held in 5-day sessions, Monday-Friday between July 12 and August 27.
Cost: $457/week, resident; $462/week, non-resident.  Transportation and meals are included.

Echo Lake Family Camp
Families can swim, hike, fish, sports, horeseshoes, or enjoy the hot tub together. Families can also enjoy a night at the lodge or the campfire. Prices include three hot meals each day and snacks and an overnight stay in a rustic tent cabin. Echo Lake Family Camp operates July 2-11 and most weekends throughout the summer. 
Cost: Adults (15+) $50, resident/$55, non-resident; Youth (7-14) $42 (resident)/$44 non-resident; Child (3-6) $30, resident/$35, non-resident. Infants are free.
