THE MANY FORMS OF SCULPTURE: ADDISON STREET WINDOWS GALLERY, BERKELEY

Berkeley, California (Friday, December 17, 2010) - The upcoming show on display in the Addison Street Window Gallery on Addison Street in the Downtown Arts District of Berkeley is an impressive demonstration of various forms and types of Sculpture: wood carving (walnut, bass wood, black locust wood and cherry), bronze and other mould-making and casting, clay (pit fired and kiln), stone carving (marble, serpentine and limestone), reliefs (hydrocal and aluminum), assemblage of mixed media into three dimensional sculpture, metal fabrication, mosaics and sculpture from recycled materials.
This interesting and informative display of sculpture art runs from December 5, 2010 - January 15, 2011 at the Addison Street Window Gallery on Addison Street, between Shattuck and Milvia. This is right in the heart of the Berkeley Arts District, across from the Berkeley Repertory Theater and next to the new Freight and Salvage.
This is the third of a series of four shows in the windows that focus on educating the public to the different forms of art and goes into some depth regarding the variety of approaches to the chosen form of art on display. This show demonstrates the variety of methods of sculpting and explains the various processes and gives the definition of terms used.
The show was organized with the assistance of Elizabeth Dante, prize winning and noted Bay Area Sculptor, who organized various works done by the following nine Bay Area artists: Gilham Erickson, Paul Graf, Dmitry Grudsky, Bruce Heppler, Stan Huncilman, Minal Jeswani, Elizabeth Dante, Barbara Schlein and Gabe, Curry whose subject matter is the process of creating and casting bronze sculpture.
