The I-80 Bicycle/Pedestrian Overcrossing provides non-automobile access between the residential and business districts on the east side of I-80 and the Berkeley waterfront, Bay Trail and future Eastshore State Park to the west of the freeway.

The Overcrossing consists of a steel arch bridge across the freeway with approach ramps and a touchdown plaza on either side.

The Overcrossing provides a gentle 5% slope (1:20) for easy use by wheelchairs, cyclists, strollers, and skaters.
