1. Roll call.
2. Approval of the agenda.
3. Public comment.
4. Approval of minutes of the March 2, 2012 meeting.
5. Reports from staff, and discussion and possible action on:
a. Small claims cases filed against owners of properties recently sold or about to be sold.
b. Disposition of older cases in which the Rent Board held new owners liable for part of the penalties while seeking penalties from former owners in small claims court, and staff’s communications with the new owners.
c. What a penalty bill looks like.
6. Discussion and possible action on:
a. Better ways to deal with owners who frequently register late.
b. Committee’s interest in reviewing staff correspondence to owners, where the Board gave specific instructions to staff when considering a waiver.
c. Revising Recommendation on Requested Waiver of Registration Penalties form to reflect history by owner (current history is by property)
d. A workplan for the Committee.
7. Set next meeting date and place items on agenda for that meeting.
