Berkeley Homeless Task Force
The Berkeley Homeless Task Force is a community-led process bringing together service providers, homeless persons, students, business owners, and the broader community to identify challenges towards addressing homelessness and to develop a plan for improved services, housing opportunities and other programs to serve Berkeley's homeless population. Established in the summer of 2013, the goal of the task force is to bring stakeholders together to discuss common goals and to develop a community vision towards addressing homelessness. The Task Force will develop a report to the Berkeley City Council with program, policy and funding recommendations to improve services to the homeless.
All Task Force meetings are open to the public and everyone is encouraged to participate. The Homeless Task Force meets at the North Berkeley Senior Center at 1901 Hearst Avenue in Berkeley. We begin promptly and would like to note that the meetings are roundtable discussions between equals within the community. To ensure that quality of process among us, we ask that those attending our meetings come ready to listen as well as to speak and contribute. Mutual respect is of utmost importance to our work together. Kids are always welcome, as are contributions to the snack table. We hope to see you soon!
