The Berkeley Police Review Commission (PRC) investigates complaints of misconduct against Berkeley police officers as well as Berkeley Police Department (BPD) policies. A civilian commission created by Berkeley voters in 1973, the PRC is completely independent of the BPD. The nine commissioners of the PRC all live in Berkeley and are appointed by each member of the City Council and Mayor. The PRC accepts complaints against Berkeley police from 8:00 A.M. - 5:00 P.M.
